The Toronto Maple Leafs have fired head coach Pat Quinn.
Pat, you've done the best you could for the past seven seasons, taking a Leafs squad that couldn't make the post-season and turning it into a playoff contender. And for that I'm grateful.
That you've been shitcanned is less about your abilities as a coach, and more the result of a power struggle with new GM John Ferguson. He won, you lost. But it also means that new blood will be brought into the organization, hopefully in the name of Marlies head coach Paul Maurice.
It's time for you to go, but I'm still sad to see ya leave.
